Bryn Jones is a Certified Prosthetist and Certified Orthotist in the Niagara Region. He holds a Degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Guelph and completed the Post Graduate Clinical Methods in Prosthetic/Orthotics program from George Brown College in 2010. Bryn currently divides his time between clinical practice, spending time with his family and volunteering with the OAPO Board.
Kelsey McMartin is a Certified Prosthetist at Smith Prosthetic Services in Ottawa. She graduated from Biomedical Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia before entering the Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics program at George Brown College. She completed her Master of Rehabilitation Sciences with McMaster University in 2016 and her residency in Prosthetics in 2017. She is new to the OAPO board and keen to contribute to the field. When not working, she enjoys walking her dog and spending time with family.
Mary Catherine has been a long time member of OAPO, has served on the Board of Directors, as Communications Officer and is now enjoying the challenge that the position of President brings. She brings experience from working in a small private clinic for many years, and feels that communication is the key to success in all endeavours. This is especially helpful when trying to balance work, and volunteer activities with a busy family life.
Kristin Schafer is a Certified Prosthetist in Sudbury. She is an Honours graduate from the Kinesiology Program at Laurentian University in 1996 and the Post Graduate Clinical Methods in Prosthetic/Orthotics at George Brown College in 1998. Kristin currently divides her time between clinical practice, raising her family and volunteering with the OAPO Board.
Melanie Freedman is a Certified Orthotist working in Toronto at a private facility. She recently completed her IIWCC (International Interprofessional Wound Care Course) designation and specializes in devices for offloading diabetic wounds and managing orthopedic conditions. Melanie has served as the OAPO Secretary for almost 8 years and is active with various professional associations. When she not at the office she is usually at the park with her dog Josie.
The OAPO organization gives all certified and registered members, residents, interns, students and others interested in prosthetics and orthotics in Ontario an opportunity to network, voice opinions, and advocate for our clients
